Melomanic sessions
As a fresh and humble melomanic i cannot claim to a specific number of reasons as to why i like the melomanic sessions,but i will elaborately express my main appreciation for the sessions in this note.First and foremost it is the fact that it is for charity and i remember when it was initiated on the very first session,it was for a worthy very cause and continues on the same note.As I have always beleived that music should be used to help the less fortunate or any person in any need,As music is that powerful in having that comforting gesture not to mention the fact that it is a strong language that comes with a variety of genres.Music has worked in the past in inspiring and bringing people together and im most glad that even in an ever so commercialised world,where heart and soul of sound is lost,good music for the right purpose still survives.When artists make music in the aim of making it a place where people can go to when there is nowhere else to go:) Second of all,i love the vibe of simple sound and intent that is carried among the melomanics,the fact that it is very simple and abstract,makes it all the more unique and reminds me of those woodstock videos I used to watch,the way garage bands grew,recording music off the radio on to cassettes during school holidays at 9 years of age and the ages of music revolution which i wish i lived through,this is my glimpse to see that.As it is cool to see talent to be molded and given identity in competitions,I think it is the motive that matters most.Artists like Neil young,james tailor,bob dylon and even the smashing pumkins did not have amaizing concerts,but had the magic to put a smile on a face and make a person feel! I think most all of us had soundtracks for the many moments in our lives,come live out those soundtracks yet again at the sessions.Iv seen many amaizing bands in srilanka,that have an amaizing sound and awesome energy bands such as stigmata,5 minutes apart,and independent square,.But I think i would rather settle for this:)

Living trees
Quiet and patient if you will
Listen as the forrest is still
Comes alive as some sought of thrill
Which wakes the trees at will
There are slight whispers in the leaves
Moments from hives of the bees
Belief that there is life in the trees
will prove itself at ease
Slowly the trees start their talking
If your not careful they may start moving
While their groaning,moaning and limp walking
follow you from behind,quietly stalking
Roots in the ground they grow
To the edges of the forest,to where rivers flow
they sense everything and well know
everything that creeps and that will go
Thorns on the branches will prick
At anyone careless and not ever so quick
and carefull,you may find a stick
Bashed against your head or the reason to trip
the flowers are inviting and true
swells within it sweet smelling dew
but you cannot see through
the aroma to the poison that kills you
Sunlight,the rain and the earth
the graces of each trees birth
will never be in barren dessert
As the roots dig deep in the earth
